Coal

Summary[]

Coal is found by mining rocks with any pickaxe, with the exception of stone pickaxes. It is used to craft Gunpowder and Steel. Coal is also used to fuel Steam Engine based ships as the Dragon, Fox, Steam Goose, Prometheus, Phoenix, Steamfish, Super Steamfish, Party Steamfish, Neptune, Poseidon, Binglehopper, andSteamfish Minnowclad, with each piece of coal powering it for ~45 seconds. Every steamship can hold 50 coal.

100 coal can be purchased from the Premium Merchant, for 120 Robux. This resource is fairly high in demand for higher-level players who have steam ships and those who wish to use steel.

Coal can be mined with any Pickaxe other than stone pickaxes.

You cannot obtain coal while mining on Non-spawn islands with gem pickaxes. In place of coal, you will recieve Saltpeter.

Trivia[]

Many low level players can make quite a bit of money by selling coal to higher level players.
On the contrary, some higher level players can "shark" newer players with a lot of coal by paying them a lower price than usual, for example a newer player is selling 10 coal for 100 doubloons, a older player can easily buy that and get an extreme discount.
