"The Tyrant's speed and maneuverability give it an edge over similarly armed ships." - Shipwright's Summary

The Tyrant is a level 9 ship released alongside the Osprey, Retaliator, and the Steam Goose. It has similar armament to the Shark and Serpent. This can be a direct threat to the infamous Stiletto, with the same health and speed.

It has the advantage to said ships, even the Phoenix, having a smaller profile. Made by mostly wealthier players, due to higher costs and requirements compared to the versatile Shark and other similar ships.

What it has in speed will lack in cannon integrity. In other words, its cannons will be easy to snipe away at close range.

The Tyrant's sails function similarly to a Junk's, but better. This means it has the best sails in game, as it only has a slightly smaller radius to go full speed than a Marauder, but suffers way less after it loses full speed.

There's a small cabin in the back, it doesn't contain anything and has little space.

Trivia

  • This ship was added in the August 31st update.
  • The ships' name "Tyrant" comes from the word meaning "a cruel and oppressive ruler", fitting with its massive stance and armament.
  • Some players have labelled it the best ship since it's speed and health are better than the Marauder, the ship is small (good at dodging large ship's broadsides), and it has a good cannon armament.

The Tyrant is based off of one of Blackbeard's ships. Her title was never recorded and is simply known as "Teach's (old) Sloop", although that ship was reported to have 6 guns at one point, and 8 another. It was also reported to have about 70 men on it, so the Tyrant is obviously much smaller than Teach's sloop.
